Steps to setup an email account on: Windows 10 Mail

If you have a Windows 10 PC, it comes pre-installed with the Windows Mail App, which you can use to set up your email accounts. Windows 8 and its versions have the Mail App, and you may use this tutorial to set up your email account on Windows 8.

Note: For the SMTP and IMAP protocols, we’ll use SSL Hostnames to configure the email account.

Steps 1

  • In the search field next to the start menu, type Mail.

  • Open the Mail app in Windows 10.
  • An account is an option on the left side of the screen. When you click it, a new column will appear on the right.
  • Select Add Account from the drop-down menu.

  • Select Advanced setup.

  • Select Internet email.

Steps 5

  • In the Email Client Settings section below, enter the corresponding hostnames, port numbers, and encryption techniques for the Incoming Mail and Outgoing Mail servers based on your choices.
  • Then press the Next button.

Note: In the preceding example, domainname.com should be substituted with your actual domain name.

Steps 6

  • Click on Done to conclude the process.

Steps 7

  • Your Email Client now allows you to send and receive emails.
