Australian Open

Live tactile data pads: a new way to experience the match.

Project details

Match Feel is a world-first haptic tennis experience that translates live match data into tactile feedback, enabling blind and low-vision fans to feel the game in real time.

Developed as a proof of concept with Infosys and technology provider Field of Vision for Tennis Australia at the 2026 Australian Open, Match Feel explores new possibilities for accessibility in live sport. The device uses existing optical tracking infrastructure to convert real-time match events into a structured haptic experience, allowing fans track the ball.

Our team led the experience strategy and delivery, working alongside hardware and software partners to bring the concept to life with on-site testing across the tournament. Designed with scalability in mind, the project establishes a foundation for use at future Opens.
